Pet of the Week: Nala
Looking for the queen of your pride? Meet Nala, our Pet of the Week!
This young German shepherd/Alaskan husky mix first came to the Pet Adoption Center in early August because her owners were moving to a place that didn’t allow large dogs. Nala was adopted, but came back to us in early October because she was reactive to small dogs. At 54 pounds, Nala is on the larger side of a medium-breed dog.
At not quite a year old, Nala still has a lot of puppy energy and loves to play. That’s why she’s one of our “Rambunctious Red” personality pets. Nala will need a lot of exercise and activities to keep her mind busy. Because she’s had so many homes already, she is a bit unsure of her place in the world and around other dogs, so she may do best as an “only dog.”
Nala’s previous owner says she is a big lap dog and loves people, though it may take her a bit to warm up to new folks. She is potty trained, crate trained, and knows many commands: sit, wait, come, bedtime, shake, and “out of the kitchen.” Nala is still working on her doggy manners, so she will need a home where her people can work with her to become the best dog she can be.
Do you have a place in your heart and home for Nala? She is spayed, current on vaccinations, and microchipped. Her adoption comes with many benefits, including 30 days of pet health insurance through Trupanion. During our “No Charge November” promotion, Nala’s adoption fee has been waived, although a pet license fee may still apply. Learn about all the benefits that come with a pet license at kingcounty.gov/LicenseMyPet.
We have lots of furry friends waiting to meet you at the Pet Adoption Center. Our walk-in adoption hours are noon to 5 p.m. weekdays, and noon to 4 p.m. on weekends.
