Pet of the Week: Lester
Let’s give a hand to Lester, our Pet of the Week!
This young brown tabby came to us in early August because his previous owners were no longer able to care for him. Lester lived with another cat, and his previous owners described Lester as shy, loving, cuddly, and playful. Because of his shy nature, Lester is one of our “Bashful Blue” personality pets.
Lester is an independent kitty, and likes to do his own thing at times. He can get overstimulated with petting, so his new people will need to keep an eye out for signs that he needs a break. Lester would do best in a calm and quiet home. Because he gets nervous in new situations, Lester will need some time to warm up – but once he does, you’ll have a very devoted friend!
Lester does have a history of urinating outside his litterbox. There is no indication of an underlying urinary tract infection, so the condition is most likely behavioral. Environmental enrichment and meticulous litterbox hygiene is recommended. We have information available for his adopters, and as always we recommend following up on any health concerns with your regular veterinarian.
Can you give Lester the loving home he craves? He is neutered, current on vaccinations, and microchipped. His adoption comes with many benefits, including 30 days of opt-in pet insurance through Trupanion. Because he’s our Pet of the Week, Lester’s adoption fee has been reduced, but a pet license fee may still apply. Learn about all the benefits that come with a pet license at kingcounty.gov/LicenseMyPet.
You can find profiles of all of our adoptable animals online at kingcounty.gov/AdoptAPet.
