Pet of the Week: Roger
Straight out of Toontown, here’s Roger, our Pet of the Week!
Like his namesake, Roger is a rabbit, a shorthair rabbit to be precise. He came in to the Pet Adoption Center in August to find his “fur-ever” home.
Rabbits are intelligent and complex animals that can form deep bonds with their humans. While they don’t usually enjoy being picked up or held, rabbits do enjoy spending time with their families on the floor, getting lots of greens and timothy hay.
Roger is a domestic rabbit, so he should be kept indoors. When bunny playtime comes, he can come out of his cage in a rabbit-proof area of the home. It’s during these supervised playtimes that rabbits show some of their most fun and interesting behaviors! Like almost all rabbits, Roger has a “Bashful Blue” personality, and may take some time to warm up to his new family. Once he gets to know you, Roger will be a very devoted friend!
Would you like to adopt Roger? He is neutered and has had an initial veterinary exam. Because he is our Pet of the Week, Roger’s adoption fee has been reduced. There is no requirement in the RASKC service area to purchase a pet license for a rabbit. Those who live outside our jurisdiction should check with their local authorities about any other requirements.
You can see Roger’s profile on our website at kingcounty.gov/AdoptAPet. RASKC is also open to walk-in visits on weekdays from noon to 5 p.m., and weekends noon to 4 p.m. We’re located at 21615 64th Ave. S. in Kent.
