Pet of the Week: Anubis

Our Pet of the Week Anubis is looking for her forever home – maybe yours?

This young Belgian Malinois is always up for something fun. At almost 60 pounds, she’s considered a large breed dog.

Anubis, like every Belgian Malinois, is very intelligent and trainable. She already knows all the basic commands like sit, stay, and down, and is very responsive to a capable handler. Anubis also likes agility training, and loves to climb over ramps and weave through poles. She is also an accomplished jumper, so a secure confinement including a roof will be a must for her. Anubis can jump about six feet straight up, and is also a very good climber.

Anubis has a lot of energy and drive, making her one of our “Rambunctious Red” personality pets. She would be an excellent companion for anyone who likes to hike, swim, or camp. Anubis would also be great at agility, obedience, or nosework too.

Caregivers have noted that Anubis does well with other dogs, and could be a good fit with a multi-dog household with proper introductions and management. She would do well in a home with older, dog-savvy children.

Would you like to adopt Anubis? She comes spayed, current on vaccinations, and microchipped. Her adoption comes with many benefits, including 30 days of opt-in pet insurance through Trupanion. As our Pet of the Week, her adoption fee has been reduced, though a pet license fee may still apply. Learn about all the benefits that come with a pet license at kingcounty.gov/LicenseMyPet.
